When does the course start and finish?
The course starts now and never ends! It is a completely self-paced online membership that offers new lessons each month- you decide when you start and when you finish.
Can anyone for those outside of the United States join the membership?
Yes! This membership is applicable to anyone in any country. You can use the strategies and tips in these lessons and apply it to any piano!
How is content delivered for Virtual Piano Academy?
It is a web-based course that is taught through videos, PDFs, tutorials, and helpful worksheets. Follow each month's Lessons, practice exercises, and assignments.
What lessons are offered?
Each month you will have access to new lessons. Throughout the courses, you will learn how to read sheet music, the rhythms and timing of music, Music Theory, how to play by ear, tutorials of how to play songs, major and minor scales, major scale chords. Upon enrollment, you get immediate access to Lessons #1 along with assignments and practice exercises. Each month following your enrollment you will receive new lessons which are added to your student dashboard.
How much does the Virtual Piano Academy cost?
Virtual Piano Academy is a low monthly subscription fee $29 (automated recurring payments). Weekly private piano lessons range from $40-100 per lesson. Learning piano through Virtual Piano Academy is by far more reasonable.
How long is the Virtual Piano Academy?
Virtual Piano Academy is ongoing continuing education, like in person monthly piano lessons. You can maintain your membership for as long as you like. New lessons will be introduced every month along with FB group exclusives, Live Q&As and more.
Can I sign up at any time?
Registration is open enrollment. You can sign up at any time and start with the first lesson.
Are there any tools, resources needed to start?

Is there any support for this course?
YES! Enrolling in this course gets you EXCLUSIVE access to Virtual Piano Academy's Support Group on Facebook. This is a private group on Facebook only available to those participating in any piano lessons and is a place for you to share your struggles and successes with the rest of the community. It also is a great way to ensure accountability!
Will the lessons be available simultaneously or will we have to wait until after one lesson is over before accessing another?
New lessons are made available each month and is added to your dashboard. When a new lesson becomes available the previous courses will remain in your dashboard for you to revisit as often as you wish as long as your membership is active.
Are the lessons self-paced?
The lessons are all pre-recorded and you can take them at your own pace! When lessons are made available, you will have unlimited access to all of the lessons for as long as you maintain your membership.
How long does it normally take a student to proficiently play the piano?
I have been teaching well over 15 years and I have seen some students play proficiently in as little as 6 months while others take 6 years. It is all in how dedicated you are as a student. As the teacher, I give you the foundation. It is up to you to put forth the work and effort to build your skills. On average, most students take piano 1-2 years before deciding whether they want to stick to it or drop it. Remember, learning piano is like learning math. Math is a very complicated subject and most people do not enjoy it. Think of piano as that. It is very complicated and to become a proficient player does not happen overnight. Give yourself time, stay encouraged, and I'm sure you will become the player you always wanted to be.
I’d love to give memberships as gifts. Will you be offering gift membership options?
You can certainly give Virtual Piano Academy membership as a gift! Register the name and email of the person you want to give the gift of membership to, but provide your payment info when you buy the membership.
Can I just pay for courses in the topics I needed help with or want to learn more about?
I considered that, but instead, I decided to provide lessons as I would do in real time in person. I teach a complete musical education so by covering it all, you will be able to fill in the gaps you need. Learning to play the piano is not easy but with baby steps it is easily achievable.
Will I pay a monthly fee forever or just until the lessons I want are completed?
It’s an automated recurring payment. You will be charged until you cancel your membership. There will be new lessons every month. They will build on the current lessons.
If I end membership, will I still have access to lessons released when I was an active member, but not access to new lessons?
Once you end your membership, you no longer have access to the Virtual Piano Academy lessons. Similar to a gym membership. You’re not paying per class; rather, you’re paying for a membership. Same with in person lessons.
Can I find similar courses for free online? What’s the difference?
What makes the Virtual Piano Academy special: The Instructor(s): I have been teaching piano for over 15 years and one thing I know for sure is that no one can show you how to play like I can. I have created step-by-step instructions via video that makes learning fun and engaging. The Virtual Piano Academy Forum: The Academy Forum is for members only and will be on Facebook. The Academy Forum will provide an intimate place for members to share, ask questions, receive encouragement, and hold each other accountable. The Intention: I began teaching piano due to my love for kids and sharing my expertise in a fun way. I've had many piano teachers and most of them were boring. Many students drop out of piano due to a boring teacher as well as learning piano being overwhelmingly complicated. I felt that the art of playing and being taught in a way more fun way would make a real difference. I love to empower those to learn a new skill and possibly turn that new skill into a huge talent.
What if I want to cancel my monthly membership? How do I do that?
If you want to cancel your monthly membership send an email to [email protected] and put the word, “Cancel Membership” in the subject box. Make sure to provide us with the same name (first and last), and email address that you used for your billing information. Remember, you will lose access to all lessons.
